Event Summary:
The Northern Lights Kettle Run is a 5K that takes under the holiday lights at Zona Rosa. Running under twinkling lights and dazzling crowns suspended over the streets will make the run/walk a unique experience as the miles fly by. Come early and enjoy Zona Rosa’s Northern Lights Holiday Lighting Ceremony. A Bright Lights Kid’s Run will take place 5:30 PM just prior to the lighting ceremony. Proceeds from the run support the Salvation Army’s social service and youth programs.
Event Details:

The Northern Lights Kettle Run is considered one of Kansas City’s most beautiful running events. The route is under the spectacular holiday lights and oversized crowns that are extended over the intersections. A 50 foot Christmas tree is on display in the Town Square.

Bright Lights Kid's Run
A Bright Lights Kid’s Run will take place at 5:30 PM, free of charge, and every child will receive a participation ribbon. The kid’s run will take place in front of The Grove on Dixson Avenue.

Lighting Ceremony
Please join us early for the Zona Rosa Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 PM. This is always an exciting event with music and the arrival of the holiday Fairy Princess, Santa Claus, and Captain Kettle. 

Packet Pickup
On-site registration and packet pickup will take place inside the Grove on Friday, November 18th from 3:00-6:00 PM and on Saturday, November 19th from 3:00-6:45 PM. 

Awards
The winners of each age group and overall winner will receive a gift certificate from favorite area restaurants. Every Northern Lights runner/walker will receive a finisher medal.

11/01 – 11/9: $30
11/10 - Race Day: $35

Child Registration (15 & under):
Through 10/31: $15
11/01 – 11/9: $20
11/10 - Race Day: $25

The Salvation Army in Kansas City serves human needs without discrimination. Extensive services include: food, shelter, utility assistance, and prescription assistance to those in need. The Salvation Army provides programs and activities for youth that develops life skills and character building.
